Hi.

I think if you check date with windows explorer you can see unchanged dates for saving or building for your jpeg files.

I allready checked the "explorer" informations. (But it's much easier to paste here text from cmd-box then image. )
There are three different "dates/times":
- "created" date stays unchanged and keeps original data from camera,
- "changed" date is reset to "processed" date; this one is shown in cmd-box and stored on other (non NTFS) media (like USB, CD...) - IMHO most interesting date,
- "last accessed" date is almost allways actual.

I think, that "-keepfiledate" could keep "changed" date, because only this one is "universal" and "filesystem independent".
(And sorry - my translation is based on czech Windows and may be not exact too. )

I test nconvert and dicover some features.
I always put my pictures with my digicam Canon A80 with MS explorer onto my harddisk.

Then there are *four" timestamps and three of them are absolute identical.

- create date
- change date
- access date
- picture record date

I think last is an EXIF data. nconvert do not change this one.

I think that it is misterious that all 4 dates except access date are identical after I put a picture onto my harddisk, because the record time is never the same as creation on harddisk. When I copy the picture from one place to another on my harddisk all timestamps are set to copy time except record time.


So, it is nice that nconvert do not change EXIF time but if I would transform all pictures in my database I never could find some with Windows explorer by masking the date.
