Incremental typing file navigation

Post by wOxxOm »

I am a newbie to XnView, I have a trouble - XnView's default behaviour when you type a file name is beyond my understanding - every letter typed in (however fast) takes selection to a new file instead of standard lists behaviour which is incremental navigation.

I expect this: typing "A11561" will take the selection marqee (cursor) to the file beginning with these letters. Any tips on what option I should change?

Focus…

Post by Clo »

:) Hello !

• The tree behaves like it should…

- But when you are viewing thumb nails, you need to press the TAB key to replace the focus on the tree (or click in its pane),
then you open the folder corresponding to the typed letter…

- The programme has not any feature (yet) to read in you brain that you want to change the open folder in the tree,
while the focus is not in it's pane… Image

I'm sorry, we are talking about different things and I completely missed the point of your post.

Thumbnail views might be acting a little different than other views (details, list) with this 'auto-name-find' feature (when 2nd character is quickly pressed).

not only they might but they do actually :-) and this is what embarasses me as I know every Windows list control has the inner property regulating incremnetal typing navigation - MatchFirstLetter or MatchComplete....
