Description, descript.ion and "Beschreibung"

Hello

I tried the field "Beschreibung" (german word; translation maybe "description"?) and found that a file named "descript.ion" is created in the directory where the images are stored.

Is it right that the file and the idea behind the "Beschreibung" is identic with the "Description" in Total Commander and that both programs use and edit the same file?

• Yes, they do.
- However, TC manages this function better, since it'll recreate a descript.ion in the target directory
when an image (or any file) is copied from it, while XnView doesn't…
- Also, XnView writes always the name¦path within "double-quotes" - even when useless -
so the author of TC had to patch his programme in order to support that (done for a long while…).
