1.91.2 Black video thumbnails

Post by Danny »

As of late i'm getting a lot of black and garbled video thumbnails (mostly XviD AVIs). Have you changed anything on the extraction method? Because i haven't changed anything regarding my installed codecs on WinXP SP1. You still extract the frames 10% into the file, don't you?

Strangest thing is that most of those videos playback in the viewer nonetheless (some don't). It's just not building thumbnails (most of the time).
Get the bugs fixed, THEN start adding features. It sucks, but someone has to do it.

The video is based entirely on directshow. Have you recently installed any video players, codec packs, or anything like that? You might try uninstalling what you can, and get haali's media+ffdshow to take care of all the playing.

I AM using ffdshow, but i disabled it for XNview since my enabled postfilters seem to slow down the thumbnail creation process.

Then it should fallback to the next best codec, which is DivX in my case. But it works very unrelyable.

For me, all is OK (thumbnails creation process) ,
except for DivX5.2.1 (under Win98) because the process does'nt show right x% of vidéo frame (stay at ~10% even with VideoFramePercent=0 into ini file )

ini file :
under [Browser]
VideoFramePercent=0
(0% to see the first image in the thumbnail ) ( or x%) - default is 10%
