XnViewEx

Hi,

first let me say thanks for XnView and the shell extention, but ...

If happily used the shell extention until recently when in combination with the TortoiseSVN shell extention the context menu got corrupted.

As that happened after an update of TSVN I first discussed this with its author.

http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/servlets/ ... sgNo=30903

From what he figured out so far it seems that XnShellEx is causing the problem.

I would have attached the screen shot included in that thread, but that seems not to be possible here. So if you are not able the view it from the thread, please tell how I may accord you with the screen shot.

Really strange, and if you have not the XnView ShellEx, there is no problem?

Yes, when I uninstall XnShellEx the context menus are ok.
I described my experiments in the mentioned mail list thread.

Stefan (the author of TortoiseSVN) concludes in the end:
Stefan wrote: Besides that: I was finally able to reproduce the garbled menu when
XnView is installed. Had to remove two other shell extensions first to
get it to 'work' so that TSVN disabled showed a correct menu, and TSVN
enabled showed the garbled one.
What I found: if a context menu uses the HBMMENU_CALLBACK to draw the
menu icons (not the whole menu, just the icons), then the menu is
garbled. Otherwise it appears just fine.
But: I've also tried other extensions which show an image preview in the
context menu, and they all work fine. It's just XnView which garbles the
context menu completely.

By the way, you can get TSVN from here http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads
No need to use TSVN at all. Just install it and the effect should appear.

Ahhh, damn it, I forgot to mention that the problem appears only with a 1.5 nightly build.

The nightlies are link from the bottom of download page I gave you.
Here is the link: http://nightlybuilds.tortoisesvn.net/latest/win32/

Sorry for the confusion
