It's normal, you must use '#'
Thanks, but:
- how should I know that?
You have asked for that

I have asked, per mail, your reply:
"-capture=window
-capture=desktop
-capture=window,c:\file.jpg"
I can't see any "#" here.

- it doesn't work

, just the first file is created, no "2"nd file, tested with desktop and window
Are you sure, i've checked and there is a new file each time!
OK, it works if an extension in Capture dialog and command line option is the same, if it's not the same, the first file is created, but the others not.
Perhaps something like ".ext" might be used, than extension from Capture dialog would be used, otherwise we must change it in the Capture dialog and command line option.
Is it possible to use a date (and time) here somehow?
Currently no
Could you add such an option please? Something like <date> <time>, or just "$" for date and time.

Here i have only the browser, no view window...
Viewer window's just blinks, it's hard to see that, but it's a bug though, isn't it? When I use "Save to Directory", not "Open in xnview", xnview should exit at the end.
There is no viewer window, i've checked....
For the exit after saving, i don't know. Is it good??
Because there is also the option "Open in xnview", it's enough IMO and you can't create the other screenshots even thought, since xnview window is active, so exit would be the best, you can choose if you create more screenshots then.
Exit would be useful if want to:
- create more screenshots by a hotkey
- use a scheduler to make screenshots every hour, minute...
...
Perhaps these options might help:
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=51062#51062
These:
"
After capture do this:
[ ] Save the image
[x] Open the image in Viewer
[ ] Open the image(s) Browser
[ ] Exit
Save directory [ . . . . . . . . . . ]
Format [ . . . . . . . . . . ]"
Or, the best - the independent command line options:
save (to save and exit)
open (to save and open in viewer) *
browse (to save and open capture dir. in browser)
* If not possible, just open.
For example:
-capture=desktop,save
-capture=desktop,open
-capture=desktop,browse
However, "browse" wouldn't be very useful IMHO.
Edit:
There is no viewer window, i've checked....
I can definitely see it, when using these Capture setup dialog options:
- Desktop
- Hide xnview
- Multiple capture
- Save - Directory
and these command line option:
-capture=desktop
