With a gif image, I can use image, colormap to get a palette with which I can change the colors in an image. This works the same in Irfan view as image, palette, edit palette.
I use 2 color, monochrome tif documents for incoming faxes and scans of text documents.
I use tif rather than pdf because I can easily edit tif documents to remove blotches from scanned documents.
I have discovered that with Irfan View 3.99, image, palette, edit palette of such a tiff document gets me a palette that I can use to alter the colors displayed for the tif document but that with Xnview 1.91.3, on the image menu, the edit colormap is greyed out.
Is there any way to get a palette for a monchrome tif document?
Any way to get a color palette with 2 color TIF document?

No, B&W use always Black&White, you must convert it in colorsJ Smith wrote:Is there any way to get a palette for a monchrome tif document?
Pierre.
I started with a multi page monchrome, black and white, tiff document that I had scanned.
I did image, convert to colors, 8 colors adaptive.
I then said edit colormap, and loaded a colormap that I had saved.
The image had the colors I wanted.
This sequence appears to be the equivalent of the Irfan view image, palette, and edit palette. You just have to do the convert to color step.
But then I when went to the next page of the document, the pallate colors I had specified disappeared. The second page was back to plain black and white. And then I went back to the first page, and it was the same black and white.
Is there some way I can make the palette changes apply to all pages as long as I have the document open?
