I have a problem editing a big tiff-image (14392 x 158092 x 1)
The tiff-image is created by an OCE TDS400-Scanner. As the scanner-image is rotated and too big, I want to rotate it and cut its top off.
1) rotating
I open the picture, rotate it 90° to the left and then save it under a new name. When opening the image again, it shows the correct size (158092 x 14392 x 1), but only the first (leftmost) approx. 27500 x 14392 pixels of the image show, the rest is simply black.
The tiff-writing parameters are on "LZW+Predict." for color and LZW for black&white
2) selecting
When i try to select any section of the original image for pasting into a new picture, I get a system error "unknown software exception" (0x00000094) at address 0x004a3ef0
Some other edits work without problem. E.g. if i try to change the canvas size to 6500 x 158092, the image is cropped correctly, also after saving and reopening.
I am using XnView 1.91.4 on WindowsXP SP2 with all current security patches installed.
The version XnView 1.82.4 that i was using until yesterday had a similar bug for previewing and viewing the same picture: it cut off approximately the same portion. That seems to work in the new version.
Thanks
(I am a new poster: it seems i can only link to images published on the internet. I have no easy way of publishing the image in question this way. Let me know if you need it for reproducing the mistake. Size approx 1.5MB)
