Can't convert ai file on Linux

Post by elkfisch »

I have installed Nconvert 4.51 on Red Hat 3 Linux. I also have Ghostscript 8.50. Other file types convert fine but when I try AI files I get an error message: Error: Don't know how to read this picture. Imagemagick works fine with Ghostscript on this same system. Does 4.51 work with Ghostscript? Or could it be that Nconvert is not installed correctly? I can't use 4.79 since it does not support Red Hat 3.

Perhaps a problem with 4.51, but why 4.79 doesn't work?
