Page that clearly shows differences between XnView versions?
The download page is a little confusing as far as what the Standard version has over minimal version and it appears that the full version has many other features but there is no 'easy to see' chart... can we have one please?

Minimal, standard and complete package have the same version of XnView. The differences are in supported languages or pluginsc627627 wrote:The download page is a little confusing as far as what the Standard version has over minimal version and it appears that the full version has many other features but there is no 'easy to see' chart... can we have one please?
Pierre.
First of all, thank you for making this fine program.
I've tried to find as many similar programs as I could and this one is the best imho because
Double clinking on pictures opens them
1. instantaneously
2. In appropriate size (by default)
3. Allows quick, very quick toggling through other pictures in the same folder by using the mouse wheel (by default.)
I spent a lot of time trying to find a program that can do that and could not, because they take longer to display pictures when you double click on them, do not have default settings like yours, etc.
So....
since it appears you have the best program for quick picture viewing out there, I wish you the best of luck in getting many more users to find out how good this program is.
Having said that,
I don't use Winamp but look at this chart, clearly displaying differences between versions:
http://winamp.com/player/
Can we have a chart like that for XnView versions please (no matter how obvious they are)?
I ask because I think it'll get more people to download and try this fine program, it's just how smart marketing works, if I may say so.

c627627, thank you for the nice words! That's encouraging...
Yes, a table showing the differences might be a good idea. For most people the standard download package is sufficient, but they don't know and download the complete package.
Do mean a table showing the differences between the various XnView download packages (Minimal, Standard, and Complete) or also the differences between XnView and XnView DeLuxe?

Many new users come to the download page
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/pierre.g/xnview ... win32.html
and what do they see? Three versions (it doesn't matter what they are called.)
It's pretty much a guarantee that a good portion of them proceed to find out what the differences are.
They then get frustrated because it's not easy to find out what the differences are, is it?
It should be made easy by displaying a small chart right there, telling them the differences, no matter what the differences are or what the versions are called.

Re: Three years later...
Yes, time for improving this. I guess a simple table with the three packages Standard, Minimal, and Complete on the horizontal side and the files/features included on the vertical side should explain things well.c627627 wrote:It's still not too late!

Is there one now?
Re: Page that clearly shows differences between XnView versi
I've just started a package comparison table in the XnView Wiki. Feel free to enhance and complete the table.
