Can't find option to disable auto-rotate

Post by hubschraubaer »

Hi forum,

I've found some (older) issues regarding the auto-rotate option. I like to disable it in XnView 1.91.4 but I can't find the option in the German version. Where is it?
Regards,
Oliver

Please have a look in FAQ How to rotate images automatically, especially the troubleshooting section will be interesting for you.

If you still have problems please let us know.

Hello helmut.

In general the auto-rotate function works fine. I only like to disable it. So no real troubleshooting needed.

I've found the mentioned FAQ. But when I search for an option using the navigation
"Options > Browser > Read > "Rotate images based on EXIF information".
I can't find this in the German version
"Optionen > Betrachter "
because there's nothing like 'Lesen'
here and nothing that has something to to with rotation and EXIF information.

So where is the switch in the German version.
Regards,
Oliver

Some time ago the options have been restructured completely and so the above FAQ is partly outdated. I'll update the FAQ, soon.

The appropriate options is in the English version:
Menu "Tools > Options", Category "General", Tab "Operations"

Or in the German version:
Menüpunkt "Werkzeuge > Optionen", Kategorie "Allgemein", Registerkarte "Operationen", Kontrollkästchen "Bilder gemäß EXIF-Information automatisch ausrichen"

Make sure to clean the cache or use the menu "View > Rebuild thumbnails" (German: "Ansicht > Miniaturansicht neu erstellen") on individual folders.
