Categories. Comments and questions

Post by Sark »

The Categories tree in version 1.91.4 is something that I am going to be using a great deal. The Colour Label and Rating Trees are also a good way of a highlighting particular files, however, I’m not sure anyone would want to rate their Below Average and Bad files! It would be great if you could rename the comments/descriptions just as you can with Categories.

Also, the only way I am able to remove a colour label or rating is by deleting the file and restoring it to its original location from the recycle bin. I can move to, and assign, a different colour label/rating, or disable Show Rating/Colour, but I can’t just remove a files colour label or rating completely as is possible with the Categories options.

Finally, a Windows 2000 question. When I do a file search in xnView it includes all the duplicate shortcuts from my Windows “Recent” folder. Does anyone know if there is a way of reducing the number of files Windows saves in the Recent folder.

PS…One other interesting discovery using xnView is that it treats layered images as multi-page documents, allowing you to view each layer in a multilayer .psd. Just wondered if this is intentional or not. It is certainly very useful.

You can rename them in xnview.ini
RatingLabel-0=...
RatingLabel-1=..
...
ColorLabel-0=...
ColorLabel-1=...
...

No, assign 'no rating' or 'no colour' to the file
Pierre.

Hi Pierre!

Which INI section should contain the "RatingLabel" values?

Thanks!
