If gspot says that the same codec is being used in both, then it's very unlikely to be some other codec interfering.
When you're playing an flv file, a new icon should appear in your tray (by the clock), it should have an F on it. Right click that and choose "ffdshow video decoder". Now at the bottom left you'll see "output", click on that. Now near the bottom on the right you'll see "flip", make sure "flip" is UNchecked, then click apply.
The flip option turns the video upside down. I have no idea why they included such an option, but it's probably the source of your problem.
Flash Videos (.flv) are Upside Down

No icon appears, on either computer (one works OK, other upside down). I can't tell if ffdshow is installed. If I download and install it the flvs are all messed up.Drahken wrote:If gspot says that the same codec is being used in both, then it's very unlikely to be some other codec interfering.

Also, in GOM player which works, there is a codec that was installed called flvsplitter. If I ununstall that, GOM doesn't play flv at all, AND neither does WMP.

It plays .flv flash videos but they are upside down. Is there any way to fix this. (Other video formats are OK).

1. VLC player (plays FLV)
2. MPLAYER (plays FLV, also can decompose them into frames)
3. FFMPEG2THEORA (convert from faulty formats/codecs into OGG Theora)
There is indeed no WinZIP under my rock.
