View preference "Fit image to desktop"

Post by Switching views »

I like to set my view preferences to view fit image to desktop. But I notice when I switch from view to the browswer, the browser takes on the fit to desktop setting of the previous picture. So say I am viewing a picture at 200 width by 600 length. I switch to the browser with a click and the file browser is in 200w by 600w. This is an annoying behavior and I was wondering if I set this myself some how? Can I un set it?

Edit:
I just realized something. I think the problem only occurs when you turn off the tool bar in the viewer mode. I turn on the toolbar and now I am not having the same problem. Maybe it's a bug.

Please note that you can set image size in two different ways:

a.) Using menu "View > Auto image size > ..."
This will adjust the current image, only (temporary).

b.) Using option in Tools > Options, category "View", tab "View", combobox "Auto image size".
This will adjust any image when opening. (permanent).

Hi Helmut, I see what you are saying but that's not what I am talking about.

I am talking about going into the view mode. Turning off the toolbar. Then double clicking the picture to go to the browser mode. In going to the browser mode, the browser takes on the dimensions of the the picture in the view mode. So if you have a thin width picture, buy double clicking and going to browser you have a thin width browser. I would like the browser to stay a certain width and not be affect by the picture width. This only happens when the tool bar is turn off in the viewer mode.

If I tell if I should post desktop pictures to show you what I mean

Confirmed. There is an option called Interface>Use different position for browser and view. It has problem when main toolbar is hidden. Settings: Layout #3; Tree Pane off.

I notice if you keep the same config before and turn of interface> remember size ans position, that the bug no longer shows itself. So I dunno if it's suppose to work that way or not. But is seems like a quick fix
