Filters menu in Browser?

Post by Dreamer »

Note: Renamed from "Filters menu in Browser?" to "Plugins menu in Browser?" -Dreamer

I really miss it, it's available in Viewer, so why not also in Browser? It's in menu > Tools > Plugin, I'd like to have the main menu item Filter(s), or plugin(s) - more below.

The name is also confusing - in Viewer it's "Filter", in Browser it's "Plugin" - I mean the plugins (or filters?) Flash, FTP, ImageShack... I'm not sure if it shouldn't be "filters" / "plugins", what do you think?

I don't know which name is the best for the menu in view mode. There is filter AND Addon...
Yes, i can add it in browser mode too, but how must work Filter in browser mode. On currently loaded preview? Load/filter/Save the selected file?

So I see there are just two filter items, perhaps you could move these two items to other sub-menu - Image(?) and rename "Filter" to "Plugin(s)". The rest items are plugins/addons - I need these in the browser (I don't need Filter in browser, sorry, but I think it's incorrect - there are filters and plugins/addons in the menu > Filter) - e.g. we can use 'Zip pack' for multiple files, so it would be very useful for the browser in the main menu.

So here are my suggestions - updated:

- move two filter items from Viewer's main menu > Filters to Image(?)
- rename Filters menu item in Viewer to Plugin(s), or Addon(s)
- move Plugins form Tools > Plugin to main menu in Browser

Currently I don't follow this discussion, but I think that this should be outlined and discussed thoroughly by more people or postponed to the next release. (I prefer mature features to quick and dirty solutions).

I don't want to slow you guys down, I just have a bit strange feeling with this request and wanted to let you know.

The problem is that it's already not good - there are Plugins (or Addons?) in Filters menu - this is wrong!? In the Browser it's in Tools > Plugin - it's not the same (location and name). At least two good reasons why it should be changed now.

Another reason is that Plugins/Addons would be useful in the main menu, in browser.

Hello Dreamer,
Of course it will be better to harmonize this confusing menu ( in Viewer it's "Filter", in Browser it's "Plugin")
But I agree with Helmut:
