Problem applying IPTC to multiple images

Post by camel »

Hi All

I am doing something wrong, but not sure what....can someone just check my workflow...

I want to add some IPTC data to multiple images.

1) choose root folder and display all images (the "show all files recursive")
2) select the thumbs I want to add IPTC data to and press ctrl "I".
3) I add in some data (i.e. "Test" under caption, and "CT" under city)
4) I keep original date and time
5) select combine new and current values.
6) select keep current value if new value is empty.
7) select write all selected.

It takes time, does it's thing. BUT no IPTC get's written to the files.

Any ideas why this is?

Thanks
John Bear

Hello,
I'm just interested if you could solve this problem, because I'm in trouble too.

Thanks,

See here:

exitool and maybe exitool's GUI can also do that, I think?

If you don't use 'recursive', you have the same problem?
Pierre.
