XnView will not select a TWAIN source

I need help, I have just installed XnView 1.92. on to a Windows Vista operating system when I try to acquire a photograph from my Canon flatbed scanner into XnView a message appears
[Acquire returns false]. Also when asked to select a TWAIN source it returnes a blank box.
The scanner is working I can scan a photo and send it to XnView with no trouble. What have I done wrong why does it not recognise the TWAIN source?

Your canon has a TWAIN driver??
