I didn't find any instructions in the zip file for installing XnView.
What I did worked, so I'm recording it here.
However, it may only have worked because I had previously installed an earlier version with the Installer. That may have set some registry entries.
1. I used control panel to remove the previous installation.
This left the file xnview.ini in the directory C:\Program Files\XnView.
2. I unzipped the zip file into C:\Program Files\XnView.
3. I created a shortcut to xnview.exe in my All Users\Programs directory.
4. I started XnView and used the Tools->Options menu to set the associations for graphics files.
