working with RAW files enhancments

Hello,

i usually take photos in both raw and jpg formats. With that, i get filename.nef + filename.jpg files. Now, it would be very nice, if i could setup XNView, so that I:

1. Can only load JPG file if both JPG and NEF (Nikon RAW) files are present - this would help to cycle through each photo only once (now each photo is shown only once.
2. Delete associated file when deleting one of pair - if i delete JPG delete NEF, and vice versa.

This would really help a lot..

what do you hink?

There is quite a bit of companion file discussion on the forum. If you search "companion" for instance, or "side-car", you'll find several threads.

unfortunately, i can't get it to work. i have added these settings to xnview.ini:

Companion_00=jpg:nef
Companion_01=nef:jpg
Companion_02=xmp:nef
Companion_03=nef:xmp

i have also enabled compaion copy/move.

when i delete jpg, nef isn't deleted. when i move jpg, nef isn't moved. it still cycles through BOTH jpg and nef in viewer..

For cycling, it's normal. But for delete/move very strange! Do you have the last version?

is in [File] section?
I've tested, and all works. If i copy/paste the jpg or the nef, 2 files are copied. If i delete the nef, the jpg is deleted. If i delete the jpg, the nef is deleted

Perhaps the entries are in a xnview.ini file that is not read by XnView? To verify, please start XnView, change an option and exit it. Then check the timestamp of xnview.ini, it should have the current date and time.
