Hmm, can't see a problem with this user account "Waldo":
The account is active - logging in should be possible.
Hm...
You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password.
@Waldo: Could you please try to login again and let us know, here?
Lol, in the forum to where you have moved the thread, I can't reply!

Your user account is active, so either the entered username or password is wrong. Probably it's the password. I've just used the "Send me a new password" function using your user name. You should receive a new password via e-mail very soon. Please try to log-in, again, using the new password.

Sorry - forgot that that forum is read-only for guests.

I've requested a new password via Email half a dozen times before and it never worked. I still got the message that I have entered a wrong or inactive user name. Same this time.

And the activation link always told me that it was successful...

Can't you just delete my account, so I can re-register under the same user name? When creating the account I used a very long password with 30+ characters and many higher 8bit characters... :bug: :bug: :bug: maybe that messed up the forum database beyond repair by normal means. :?

It's always a problem for me to find out what and how characters are accepted for password in authentication systems, it's often a trial and error since most registration forms don't gice the user any clue. Usually if I enter "illegal" characters the password gets rejected and I simply fall back to less complex passwords, but I never had such big troubles like this here.

Thanks, now this time it worked! :D

I really think you might want to check creating a test account with an extra long password (~32) with special characters. It seems that has been the problem.

Limitations…

:) Welcome aboard as a member, finally ! :D

phpBB has limitations, not only on the password lenght.
- In example, if you use a search string longer than 21 characters (or so), it shan't be found.
