Photoshop CS2 plug-in compatibility / DPI values

Hi, I'm Thomas from Germany, and I'm a new enthusiastic Xn-View-User. Big big compliments to you, Pierre!!!
I'm using XnView 1.92.1 and just tried 1.93 Beta on Windows Vista.
But two things don't work here for me:

1. Photoshop filters always show the image as a totally black area. This happens both in the preview and in the image result.
And it dosn't matter if I copy the .8bf-files to the 8bf-folder of XnView or if I link to a Photoshop-folder in the XnView options. I wanted to use Photoshop CS 2 filters.
Is there a problem with CS 2 filters or with Windows Vista or is it just a bug in the newest versions?

2. Sometimes the DPI- and cm-size-information of XnView doesn't match to the image information of Photoshop. Sometimes that information even doesn't match inside XnView: the tooltip tag <DPI> shows a different number as the "Set DPI..."- or the "Resize"-Dialog.
There can happen the funniest things: For example the tooltip tag shows 100 DPI, but Photoshop says 72 DPI and "Set DPI" says 100 DPI. You change in "Set DPI" the number to 200, save the image but the tooltip suddenly says 72! Photoshop now says 200. You can restart XnView but the tooltip remains on 72 DPI.
Is this a bug or are there other reasons?

For example the "artistic -> plastic wrap" filter makes a kind of star in the middle of the black area. It's like you have an image which shows a black area from the beginning and then you want to use filters on that black area.
For example I tried every Photoshop filter under the folder "artistic".
To recapitulate: The filters seem to work correctly but XnView makes a black area out every image you want to apply a filter.

Ah, shit, I wanted to test this at my work place, but now I'm at home and don't have XP here. I will test it tomorrow. A test on Windows 2000 can take a few days, because only my girlfriend has 2000 and she's always very busy and not very good at the computer.

It doesn't matter which picture I choose, it doesn't work with any picture. I testet different pictures in the formats: jpg, tif, psd, bmp. It never works.

By the way: The only add-on-filter that works is Harry's filter which comes with the installation. But these filters are .hfp-files. It seems, that XnView only has problems with 8bf-files.

Ah, another problem I forgot to tell:
If I create a filter link under "options -> system integration" to the photoshop filters that are under "...programs -> adobe -> adobe photoshop cs2 -> plug-ins -> filter", XnView only shows "***liquify*** - liquify..." in the plug-in-manager (which doesn't work). Only if I copy all the filters in the 8bf-folder of XnView I get all the filter names in the plug-in-manager.
Even if i copy all the filters to a new folder anywhere on my hard disk and create a link to that folder, the plug-in-manager always only shows "liquify".

(I installed XnView 1.92.1 correctly and without any problems or under any strange conditions.)

I resign to the fact, that other programs have problems with the newest Photoshop filters, which is not a very bad thing for me, because photoshop remains to be my proper grafic program and XnView will remain my favourite picture viewer, manager and konverter.

The specification of adobe plugin are closed, so already very difficult to make a good support of plugin before CS2.
