It would be nice to show folder size as well as file size in the size column.

Folder Size

Post by kiwichick »

Thanks for the reply xnview.

What a shame it's not as easy as one would think. It seems XnView is getting closer and closer to being an Explorer replacement so this option would be really handy. There's a small program called Folder Size that is a Windows Explorer extension. Maybe XnView could be designed to incorporate it if it was easier: http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/

:) Hello !

• “Cobbler, stick to your last!”… Like Pierre says above, it's very long when you have a big folder
(or a drive root) containing a mountain of pretty full sub-folders…

- That function is in Total Commander (not specially slow as F.M.), and that takes ages in the above-mentioned cases.
- TC has plugins to perform the same function with more details¦other units and the like, but it's not that faster…

Thanks Clo

When xnview said "This process can be very long!" I thought that meant the programming required to make this function available not the time it takes to display the size of large folders/sub folders.

I know it takes a long time but I wasn't asking for speed. And if it was available as an option (like freeCommander) and not a default within the program, then people could decide whether they wanted to use it and put up with the time it takes to display the information.
