Files not opening when clicking on them

Post by Pat »

I just installed 1.80.3 (had 1.70 before). And now suddenly I cant open any other files except movies and pictures?
If I double click on any .exe, .zip, .rar, whatever, nothing will happen.
Do I always have to use the context menu now to open those? I cant seem to find an option to change that.

I am not sure if this is possible in XnView 1.80.3, but it will be possible in XnView 1.82 what should be out in the next twenty-four hours.
XnView Tweak UI - Tool to customize your XnView beyond the regular XnView options.
UI-less Settings - Documentation of all the hidden settings in XnView.
XFAM - Tool to create and customize XnView file associations.

I just installed XnView (1.92) again and doubleclicking .rar or .zip files still doesnt start my associated application (winrar). I have to press F3 for it to do that.
I installed the rar and zip addons, but they only act as an XnV viewer. I want it to start winrar.
Is there a way to maek that work?

Thank you!

Oh yeah, Kaspersky AntiVirus also found a virus (modification of Type_Win32) in the UNACEV2.DLL file in the archive.zip file from your addons.

False positive

:) Hello !

• I checked, Avira AntiVir Classic doesn't find any virus in this DLL…
- It's certainly a false positive that you might report to them.

It's pretty unlikely, but perhaps you have downloaded an infected or manipulated version from an unsafe download source.

Please download the XnView package from one of our download servers. Let us know if this solves your problem.
