Just tried XnView for the first time today. Looks good, but am stuck on something:
I have associated .jpg files to XnView, and enabled the "Start View in Fullscreen" checkbox under Misc options. When I double-click a .jpg file, it opens up a XnView window, and I can see the toolbar, and the window being maximised (screen redraw). Finally, it changes into fullscreen and displays the picture. All this takes around one second, which seems to be a bit slow.
Is it possible for XnView to go straight to a fullscreen view, without drawing and resizing the window first?

Yes, some user have the same problem, see post 'Slow operations - something wrong?'sammo2828 wrote:Just tried XnView for the first time today. Looks good, but am stuck on something:

I'll search why...

Another reason why to add a feature Export options to *.reg file (at least as an alternative...)

I have enabled the "Use registry to save options" checkbox under Install options. It is still the same.
I'm using Windows XP with SP2 and updates and all the latest drivers for my system. It's pretty much a fresh install since yesterday. XP is configured to "Adjust for best performance" (by default), so it has all the window animations etc enabled. I have tried turning everything off, but the problem is still the same.
Not sure if this will help, but I have the same problem with Irfanview when starting in fullscreen.

With next release, i'll make an external exe to view quickly picture in fullscreen or normal view, with few features (with possibility to start XnView in browse or edit mode).

It looks good...xnview wrote:With next release, i'll make an external exe to view quickly picture in fullscreen or normal view, with few features
You mean this? If I open an image, it will be opened with "quick exe" and then:xnview wrote:(with possibility to start XnView in browse or edit mode).
- if I hit Enter or mouse double-click, image will be closed and opened in browser (with standard exe)
- if I hit ctrl+F or MMB (for go to viewer), image will be closed and opened in viewer (with standard exe) ?
And one question - will be settings from ini or registry used in "quick exe"? (like mouse navigation, fit large images, informations in fullscreen...)
