NOT retain image adjustment settings within sessions?

Post by GuestAMundo »

Using XNView 1.93.4 under XP Home. I often use the Image Adjustment tools (Adjust Brightness/Contrast/Gamma/Balance).

I find that as each image is adjusted with the "Apply to Image" function enabled, all subsequent images automagically get the last-set values applied when the Adjustment function loads, and I have to click Default Values to view each subsequent image in its original state before I can correctly judge and apply new values. That is, Image X values are applied to Image Y, Image Z, etc, within a single XNView session.

I would prefer it if the applied adjustment values were NOT stored at all -- such that each image loaded in its original state when the Adjustment function is called. That is, Image X loads in its original state and Value X is applied; then Image Y loads in its original state and Value X is NOT automatically applied.

This may be possible by unchecking the "Apply to image" box after each adjustment, but that's a tremendous inconvenience.

Is that clear? Is this possible?

I agree, the values should be restored to original everytime. This is more or less the same problem as for the thread about "Resize image" where values are stored.

For those who need keeping last used values so badly, perhaps this should be directed from a new option? Anyway, it should be consequent for all dialogs: either keep last used values or do not store any values.

A checkbox on the relevant dialogs to "retain between sessions" (or not!) would be good.
