I may have missed something, but it looks as though what is implemented here is a facility to use a specific ICM file when the option "Use ICC embedded profile" is checked. I don't think this does what is needed I'm afraid.

You need to consider the (device-independent) colour space of the file (sRGB, adobeRGB etc) AND device-dependent profiles (for monitors and printers) to get the correct output - not either/or but both.

Thank you. Now I see how it works :idea: Perhaps a little editing of the options text would make things clearer :wink:

The tick box turns colour management on and off, completely. If colour management is on then any colour space embedded in the image is used AND any identified monitor profile is used. Correct?

Very nice, and a big step forward for XnView in my opinion.

yes, it's indeed a big step forward, but in my opinion it still needs some work, because:

1) it's very, very slow!
2) it would be nice to se it working for thumbnails too.
