PSD Thumbnails in Explorer Thumbnail view with Vista64?

Post by XnViewGuy »

Hi there.

I was told that your XNview application could solve a huge problem for many photoshop users... allow us to view PSD thumbnails in Vista64 and xp64 directly in the explorer window.

This is easy to achieve with any 32 bit OS of windows. Look here for instructions if you are interested
http://forums.3dtotal.com/showthread.php?t=57976

Still this method dose not work for 64 bit systems.

I was told that you could use teh xnView Shell extention to embed thumbnails into PSD images so explorer can view them in teh icon view.. but i can not seam to get it to work.

I installed the 64bit version of teh shell extention nad it is cool.. works kinda like picaview used to... there is an option callled "Embed Thumbnail if Avaliable" in teh right click menu but after selecting that if i switch explorer to icon view i still get teh PSD generic icon not the thumbnails showing.

CAN xnView do this? If so how do i do it?

Thanks in advance

ShellEx is not used to add thumbnail support in explorer, only in context menu (Right mouse click on file)
