Rating Hotkeys

Hi, I have two questions about ratings (and tags):
1. Where are the ratings and tags stored. Do they update the file?
2. Are there any alternative hotkeys for ratings? I'm working on a laptop and the numeric keypad keys are almost completely inaccesible. Can we also make the normal number keys work the same way?

Did you manage to make these changes for 1.93.6, which I see you've just released, or are they on your "to do" list, which I'm sure is very long...
