make mousewheel work in browser preview pane

Post by Koogle »

it doesn't work.. it should do , but mousewheel doesn't do anything but scroll up/down the thumbnails scrollbar thats ok.. but its far quicker to go through images with hand on mouse scrolling mousewheel..

so if mousewheel scrolling next/previous images could work with mouseover preview image pane then I could still go through and tag images quicker with the other hand.

other reason for this suggestion is that ctrl +1, ctrl +alt +1 etc tagging shortcuts don't work in normal image view mode where mousewheel scrolling does actually work.

+detachable preview slim(ie no extra junk around the image borders like menus ), with "always ontop" shortcut for xnview 2.0 :)

This issue does not occur for me.

You could try clicking in the preview pane first...

This issue does not occur for me. ?

which issue exactly the hotkeys not working in when viewing images in a tab.. or in the browser?

i try clicking on preview pane before mousewheel scrolling.. it doesn't work.. probably because the feature hasn't been built in yet

:) Hello !

• Same as John, it works alright here. Plus "CTRL", I switch to zoom in¦out of the preview.
- With the wheel-click, I get the -|- cross-cursor, and can use the gestures to scroll in any direction…

- Mybe it depends on your mouse settings in Win ?

 Kind regards,

Sorry I should be more clear myself.. I don't need image scrolling.. I mean image scrollling as in changing the image to the previous/next image...

I use mouse2/right mouse to 'Move Image'..so that takes care of moving the image about when zoomed in our annoying scrollbars show up.

my settings:
***********
General>Keyboard/Mouse>

Mousewheel set to Previous/Next File
************

Preview pane window within the Browser Tab

Use Mousewheel over current image.. nothing for me (it should goto the previous/next file)

ctrl+mousewheel does zoom in/out of the preview image so that works for me aswel.. but i'm wanting to mousewheel alone to change image.

just another issue .. why does the image tagging ctrl+1 , ctrl+alt+1 etc not work with the normal number keys... I noticed it only with with the numpad keys.. kinda annoying as ctrl/alt+ keys 1,2,3,4,5 are much closer together on the right side of the keyboard.. where the right hand is.. while the left hand is on the mouse... :)

Normal for YOU !

:) Again…

• Ah ! Sorry, I understood for scrolling ! I never use the wheel for next¦previous image, that gets on my nerves ! :P
…why does the image tagging ctrl+1 , ctrl+alt+1 etc not work with the normal number keys...
- They are "normal" keys for YOU only, using an English keyboard ! But for a lot of keyboards,
the alpha-pad digits need + Shift, the normal keys are assigned to i.e. accented characters
and other symbols on a French keyboard !
- Hence, NUMpad for everybody is the solution…

thats too bad.. previous/next on mousewheel is an awesome workflow speedup

as for the language keyboard probs.. that bit sucks.. i suppose a custom keyboard solution for those with just plain english keyboards? lol the workflow speedup would be much better.. would be nice to make key combinations withith one hands width apart. specially for tagging images quickly one after the other... not sure you've noticed but ctrl+alt are more than ones normal hand width in distance from the numpad keys... and right hand is on mouse

xnview man do give it some thought please, would be better workflow design

Custom knight

:) Again-again…

• On principle, I'm in favour of a full customization of the interface. Whether you'ld browse old topics here,
you could find out many threads of mine (or where I posted) in that way… and pretty rows too ! :P

• On French keyboards (and some others), Ctrl+Alt is not a problem,
because it's a single key AltGr set at the location of your Right-Alt key…

Yes, perhaps it should go to the prev. / next image.

Try also the right button+wheel, or left+wheel to zoom - it works also in fullscreen.
