Session saving

Post by Drahken »

I think it'd be good if xnview had an option to save a session. ie, You have a dozen images open, you have to leave for work, but you don't want to leave your comp on & xnview running all day, nor do you want to have to reopen all those images again manually. In this case, you would save the current session, then when you come home you could open that saved session, and pick up where you left off. Session saving would save which images you had open, what order you had them open in, whether or not you had the browser tab open, etc.

Pierre, study the "Session Manager 0.6.1.13" extension for Firefox. It allows control of Windows, Tabs, Closed Tabs, Undo Closed Tabs and much more!

No, not something on exit. That would either nag you every time you exitted without closing all images first, or (if you checked the never ask box) it wouldn't prompt you when you do need it.
It should be something like file->save session, and file->restore session.

It could either be done in a way that only allows 1 saved session at a time (in which case it wouldn't prompt for a name or anything) & could be saved either in the ini file or in a seperate file (if saving a large session might bog down the main ini file). Or it could allow saving of multiple different sessions, propmpt for some kind of name, then save them either to individual txt/ini type files, or to a single collective sessions.ini file (multiple saved sessions would almost certainly put too much info into the main ini file & make it slow to load).

"Save session" & "Manage sessions" features like in Opera would be great, please considere it.

I was searching for the same feature, so I support this request.
Is it something in development?
