opening picture problem

Hi,
I'm using 1.96.6 French version of XNview installed on Windows2000

I have a big problem when I want to open a pic file for the windows explorator,
XN view soft launch directly the slideshow of all the repertory where the file is.
The 'Escape' key is not working (if I want to go back to the browser menu)
