Cannot open Bmp saved with XnView

Post by UserST »

After saving an image as a bitmap...one of my imaging program displays incorrecly as a blank screen. But that same image saved using other programs (internet explorer, kodak imaging, etc...) displays fine.I was able to get the bitmaps to display properly after resizing it (any size) using mspaint. Possibly a problem within the program reading the bitmap headers incorrectly.... :? I'm using the XnView version 1.74 on Windows 2000 sp4, DirectX 9.0b. I hope this info helps.

Some questions which might shed light on your problem:
- Which of your image programs had problems? (Name + Version)
- Did you use the .bmp format for saving?
- After saving, what are the properties of the BMP files shown in XnView (size, colour depth, format)?
- Which Windows platform do you use?

sorry, my mistake

I just found out the program I was using was originally designed for win 95/98 and needed updating. So there is no problem with XnView exporting bitmaps. Sorry for any inconvenience. XnView is still the best image viewer in my book. :)
