how to process multiple files using nconvert

Post by xnConverter »

This is a stupid question, i am sure of it. But, can someone tell me how to use nconvert to process like thousands of files? What I want to do is the following:

nconvert %%.jpg c:\documents\fotos\*.*

Use some sort of wildcard to process every file in a folder. Please tell me that this is possible :-) .

Have you tried using the GUI batch converter? I'm not sure what you're trying to do (I don't know nconvert commands) but to me it looks like you're trying to convert to JPG. In the GUI batch converter, you can select an entire folder and then have it output to a specific format (or do any image transformations)

I have 14k files to process. The thing crawls after getting through 1k. I am trying to resize and add a watermark. I suppose taking in 1k chunks would be an option. But I really would like to get the batch line conversion of capability of the other tool working so I can leave it run and go do something else.

maybe it's crawling not because of the gui, but because of RAM or tons of CPU being taken up? What specs are your CPU and RAM?
