Message "Rotated TIF with IPTC loses Metadata"?

I have a TIF with IPTC - everything is OK.
I rotate it and save it - a message appears:

Be carefull - saving in this format will lose existing metadata.

I save - and all my IPTC is NOT lost ...

Is this an old message from elder versions without TIF-IPTC-Editing?
