display images without alpha?

i was wondering if there is a possibility to display images containing alpha channels whithout their alpha? i often render png's or tga's that contain an alpha, but when i preview those images, i couldn't care less about the alpha.

i know there ist a checkbox where i can use a checkerboard pattern as background or i can change the background color in a few places, but that doesn't really help.

Open the View menu in View mode and deactivate Use alpha channel (Ctrl+H).
