PhotoSynth/Photo Tourism: 3D modelisation to browse photos

Post by Olivier_G »

This is huge!!! It's technically impressive and I believe it will have a great influence on how we will organize/browse photos in the future, especially collections on the web.

http://labs.live.com/photosynth/
"Photosynth takes a large collection of photos of a place or object, analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed 3-Dimensional space."

Check their demo and look at their videos: 1 2 3 (about 50MB each)
