Default dpi?

I'd like to make contact sheets -- lots of contact sheets -- at 300dpi. I can set the res to 3075x2175 (10.25x7.25 inches at 300dpi), but the files come through as 96dpi or something in that range. Is there a way to force the default?

You can use Tools->Multi convert->Advanced operations->Set DPI.

Even if they are not numbered sequentially? They're numberd by date plus sometimes date span, plus project ID.... can I do such a conversion of just "all files in this directory"?

You can add all the files on a directory without troubles selecting on
Tools->Multi convert->add folder
