to view AI files in the field

Post by neondeon »

Our group has turned to Adobe Acrobat Reader.

And... we are seriously considering converting everything to Canvas so we can use ACDsee and get out of the Adobe monopoly that won't let you view your own work.

Bridge just doesn't cut it.

Hope this helps.

The problem is we have a team of sales executives for our advertising and marketing department who are in the field and they need an application to view photoshop and illustrator files that they receive/give to clients. Is there any application that can do this because purchasing and installing photoshop an illustrator on their laptops just for viewing is too expensive an option. Any suggestions?

I personally like it does not generate thumbnails, because it may slow down so much.

You can rename an .ai file to .pdf and open with your pdf reader of choice. Eg: foxit reader.

You are right, but actaully, you can do it without renaming. All modern .ai-files are readable in PDF-readers, only old ones can not. Not sure with which version this was added.
