MP_Win0.1 via Wine --Vs-- MP Linux0.1

Post by oops66 »

Hello,
First, congratulations Pierre, this new alpha MP Windows version 0.1 is more efficient and powerful (search, keywords, custom shortcuts, etc... new functions) than the previous one (alpha0.015)

----------------------------------------------------------- MP WINDOWS 0.1 VER --------------------------------------------------------------

A-) My Favorites suggestions or requests (and/or bugs) for the moment about XnView MP Windows version 0.1 via Wine are:
*-) add into the XnViewMPwindows zip file : msvcp80.dll, msvcr80.dll, msvcm80.dll, Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest (needed under Linux\Wine)
**-) even if I use "Sort By : Name + ascending" for the folders, the sorting is not good. (see image)
***) too much latency in general, (switch between modes and Preview): http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 9&start=15
# -)...

MP_Win0.1 under Wine:

------------------------------------------------------------ MP LINUX 0.1 VER ----------------------------------------------------------------

from here : http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=67529#67529

B-) Suggestions (for the moment) about XnView MP Linux version 0.1 are:
*-) For the moment, I only can launch MP linux0.1 via Krusader and root mode, see here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=67502#67502 ( or rename the file: .config/Trolltech.conf)
**-) If in the configuration, under options/integration/ "folder used for other files" is set to "XnView", the thumbnails cache is not created into this folder if the exact folder name does not exist (example XnViewMP directory name instead XnView folder name).
***-)Like previous MP linux versions, I still have some System freezes (few sec) sometimes with this 0.1 release too. QT Core efficiency problem ?, graphic card management problem ?, ... ??? --> but too much CPU system usage (the XOrg processus), between CPU user usage is normal (see the red graphic CPU usage near the 52°C item below - user CPU usage is in blue). http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 20&start=0

MP Linux0.1:

Postponed:
p1-) video code on linux MP
p2-)The possibility to also change the definition texture quality as options in a next version for high quality zoom.

----------------------------------------------------------------- For both 0.1 MP versions Windows and linux (and probably MacOSX too): --------------------------------------------------------

1-) If middle mouse click on preview window is done (or on thumbnails) then --> Open in Full Screen Mode( like v1.9x )
2-) If double left mouse click on preview window is done (or on thumbnails) then --> Open in View Mode ( like v1.9x )
3-) Shortcut "/" is missing for "Fit image to window, all" (or missing command here: Option\Interface\Shortcuts\"Fit image to window, all")
4-) If after any Keywords filters selection (into the keyword tab) the "Folder tab" is selected then --> show all images in the current folder (refresh)

5-) In Full screen mode, if hotkey "i" is pressed and if you click for next image (or page down key) the information disappears
6-) On selected thumbnail, near the square tag logo, the square rate list logo, the circle color label list logo, add a new key logo for a direct access to the IPTC Keywords DB existing list.
7- ) I can not keep the thumbnails panel size (at least the layout 3 & 5, adjustment resizing problem) on next xnview restart.
8b- ) Add the zoom level "400%" into the status bar (Browser mode too), plus into Full screen mode the info "i" "zoom" like into v1.95.
8a-) Add an option to have the Print size in cm (into the status Bar too.
# -)...

Next ---> ...
9-) The "Quick Slide Show" doesn't work as expected in Full Screen Mode if the default shortcut "Pause" is pressed to start it - MP Linux version, and for MP Windows version the setting time (ms) is not respected after the second picture.
10-) Add an option to disable the kind of tooltip for (previous, start/Pause, next) into the "Full Screen" mode.

With this new MP release v0.12 these items are fixed:

MP Windows:

*-) add into the XnViewMPwindows zip file : msvcp80.dll, msvcr80.dll, msvcm80.dll, Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest (needed under Linux\Wine)
-----------FIXED----------------

***) too much latency in general, (switch between modes and Preview): http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 9&start=15
-------BETTER but can be improved----------------------------

MP LINUX:

*-) For the moment, I only can launch MP linux0.1 via Krusader and root mode, see here: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=67502#67502 ( or rename the file: .config/Trolltech.conf)
-----------FIXED------------------------

***-)Like previous MP linux versions, I still have some System freezes (few sec) sometimes
---------- Almost FIXED, I have less freezes than before, congratulations -----------------

Both MP Versions:

2-) If double left mouse click on preview window is done (or on thumbnails) then --> Open in View Mode ( like v1.9x )
-----------FIXED-----------------

3-) Shortcut "/" is missing for "Fit image to window, all" (or missing command here: Option\Interface\Shortcuts\"Fit image to window, all")
---FIXED for Full screen mode & View mode, but not into Preview mode-----

5-) In Full screen mode, if hotkey "i" is pressed and if you click for next image (or page down key) the information disappears
-----------FIXED----------------

7- ) I can not keep the thumbnails panel size (at least the layout 3 & 5, adjustment resizing problem) on next xnview restart.
---------ALMOST FIXED---------
except if layout is changed
see here "JohnFredC post": http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=68869#68869

8a-) Add an option to have the Print size in cm (into the status Bar too)
--------Almost FIXED (does not keep the option on restart -------------

8b- ) Add the zoom level "n%" into the status bar (Browser mode too), plus into Full screen mode the info "i" "zoom" like into v1.95.

Code: Select all

{File Index}
{Directory}{Filename With Ext}
{IPTC:Keywords}
((Année Mois Jour Heure IPTC: {IPTC:Created Date}))
{Make} {Model}
{Width}x{Height}_{Bpp}  {Size KB}ko
(({Focal Length}mm)) ((f/{F-Number})) (({Exposure Time}s)) (({ISO Value}iso)) {Flash}
((EXIF Date: {Date Taken [a d b Y  H:M]}))
((Lat.:{Latitude}{Latitude Ref}))
((Long.:{Longitude}{Longitude Ref}))
((Alt.:   {Haltitude}{Haltitude Ref}))
Tag(Ctrl+t): {Tag status}
Zoom:{Zoom}%
-------------FIXED for the full screen mode, and View mode but not for Preview Mode ----------

9-) The "Quick Slide Show" doesn't work as expected in Full Screen Mode if the default shortcut "Pause" is pressed to start it - MP Linux version, and for MP Windows version the setting time (ms) is not respected after the second picture.
-----------FIXED----------------

10-) Add an option to disable the kind of tooltip for (previous, start/Pause, next) into the "Full Screen" mode.
----------FIXED-------------------
(But same thing for the Histogram)

Thanks Pierre !

OK, now the MP's versions are no more really into an alpha stage, so I will do for the future separate posts.
