Different zoom behaviour

Post by Fraenzken »

Hi,

at the moment it is possible to zoom in/out with the mouse wheel. In the preferences you can decide to zoom by a distinct amount, let's say 10 per cent per wheel turn. If you choose this option, XnView zooms from (let's say) 31% to 41% to 51%... Otherwise, XnView zooms from to 33%, to 50%, then to 67% and after that to 100%.

I use the zoom function mainly for "pixel-peeping", e.g. to see if a photo is blurred or not. That means, if I zoom, I zoom to 100 per cent (i.e. 1:1-view). I don't need the 33%, 50%, 67%... Thus it would be great if there was a third option: By turning the mouse wheel one step, zoom should change to 100 per cent (i.e. 1:1-view). By turning the wheel the other way round one step, zoom should change so that the photo fits-in to screen resolution. What do you think?

Thanks a lot! (and, last but not least: XnView is great!)

Yes, there is such an option (Numpad *) - I have already suggested mouse shortcut to toggle between 100% and fit to window (Num * and /). Currently there is only the shortcut to fit image to window (right + left button).
