Batch rotation (EXIF) doesn't always work

After updating from 1.93.x to 1.95.4 I'm having some issues when rotating several images at once. The rotation is on the EXIF orientation metadata.
This worked with very well in 1.93, but now in 1.95.4 it doesn't. If I rotate the images one by one there is no problem. But if I select, for instance, three images and doing it, two will be rotated and one will not (for instance). The one that didn't rotate is then not possible to rotate by itself.
It's weird, because I can then trick the program to rotate by copying that image and selecting those two images and repeatedly clicking the rotate icon and eventually the image will rotate (like after trying 10, 15 times).

It's even more weird that I only get this behavior with my pictures taken with my Konica Minolta camera and not with those taken with my Canon IXUS 50.

If you'd like, I could send you some examples of problematic pictures. Please provide me with a private mail address in that case.

Perhaps it's just the thumbnails which have not been updated properly. Please try "View > Rebuild thumbnails".

No, I compare the files (binary wise) with the originals and the orientation settings hasn't changed.
Well, to be clear, in a batch, some pictures are rotated ok while some are not. I have four pictures for you to try.

I've also tried removing the ini file and starting "fresh", but no difference.

I tried a fresh (zip) copy of XnView and I still have this issue.
However, I discovered something funny. The picture that isn't rotated
get its attributes changed from "A" to "RSAO" (and it gets a different
icon in the Windows explorer). Not sure what all of the attributes mean, but it does become read-only. Very strange...

Yes, I did that. On the very first try it worked. All three were rotated. But when trying again (fresh set of the three pics) only one or two of them were rotated.

Does the problem also occur on a separate computer? (Just some questions that might help to solve the problem.)

Yes, they are jpg files. I've created the problem on another (Windows XP) computer. Possibly it could be some service interfering, but I don't think it's very likely. The two computers are quite different configured (different anti-virus, etc.).

Executing "attrib /?" I don't get any explaination for the 'O' attribute. What's that?

You can't reproduce? When reproducing (on a computer that has never had XnView installed before) I downloaded the XnView-win.zip file. Then I selected "Change EXIF orientation when possible" and un-selected "Use Lossless rotation when possible". On the very first run on the tree pictures (in a batch) it worked; all three were rotated. When then when trying on a fresh set of the three pictures it didn't (only one was rotated). The ones that were not rotated got the attributes RSAO.

Is it possible to get the zip for XnView 1.93.x to test. I believe it worked with that version and would like to verify. If it does, something in XnVIew must have changed.
