Thumbnail view sort of flashes ...

Post by tsehov »

First of all I want to thank You for this great application. I have installed it to my both computers (laptop and desktop) and also to many of my friends computers. Me and my friends are very satisfied with it.

However there is a minor annoyance that I don't find very convenient: When starting XnView in browse mode the thumbnail view sort of flashes after loading all the pictures. This happens also when closing a viewer window and returning to browser mode.

I have tried to find setting for this "auto refresh" to disable it with no luck.

I can find this little annoyance in every computer I tried XnView thus it is hardly any consequence of display drivers or anything like that.

By the way I tried XnView Deluxe (yes, I know it is not the same program) and there was not this kind of flash at all.

Very strange, and you have not this problem with XnView Deluxe??
Do you have "hide non image file" option?

No, I do not have this issue with Deluxe version (nor any other image browser/editor).

I suppose have tried all 'view' and 'hide' options.

I suppose have tried all 'view' and 'hide' options.
But are you sure that have checked all Options/File List/Items shown...

You are right. I first tried unchecking them all - no help. Then I checked all of them and now there is no 'refreshing flash' at all. Thank You very much.

I'm nosey (perhaps other readers are, too): Did you find out which of these options caused the problem?

It is the option 'Items shown in thumbnail mode' >> 'All other files'. If this is unchecked the 'flash' will occur the way I mentioned earlier.

Yes, it's normal, XnView check first all files, and then remove unwanted files.
