If I remember correctly, XnView was able to display thumbnails for shortcuts which point to images. For some reason I don't know this does no longer work in XnView 1.95.
Also, the user could double-click a shortcut in XnView and display the appropriate image. Now, when double-clicking, nothing happens and when using "open" XnView says "Error opening wizard.jpg".
I've tried some older version (1.91, 1.80), but there's no shortcut support, either. I'm 100% sure shortcuts had been supported, we even have Options > Thumbnails > Info Icons > Shortcuts for hiding/showing the indicator that a short cut is displayed.
Has something changed in XnView? Is the problem my Windows XP SP3?
No thumbnails for shortcuts of images

Still OK---

• Hi !
- It works OK still here -like you say- under XP-Pro SP1 :

• The preview is also displayed OK from such a thumb nail…
- However, to get the LNK displayed as a thumb nail for i.e. a text-file -in the same folder-
you ought add LNK onto the “Include” (upper) field in Options >> File List, or else it's missing…

the actual .lnk can show, but if you have a FOLDER containing only shortcuts which point to images, it shows as empty
which is really bad cuz my folders contain subfolders for raw/jpg/tif and I just put some shortcuts which point to images, so that explorer shows some thumbnails.
which it does, but now I use xnview more...

Works but slow

• I just made an empty directory then created three images *.LNK into it, that works !the actual .lnk can show, but if you have a FOLDER containing only shortcuts which point to images, it shows as empty…
- However, it's a bit slow here to open that folder (3…5 seconds).
- You might add LNK in the File List settings ( as said above), and ensure you that the boxes
Folders —Thumb nails and — Show as thumb nails are ticked.
- Win XP-Pro SP1
