1.96 (RC 1) Batch Rename Problem!

Post by jaqian »

I did a batch rename on some photos today and they disappeared! I couldn't remember what folder I was in so I did it on a another lot of photos (40), this time I backup them up. just as well because they disappeared.

This as you can guess is a very serious problem. I refreshed the folder and searched for the photos by name but couldn't find them. I'm not too worried about the first lot of photos but I can't really depend on this program now.

I had this problem with the batch rename on its own and when used with the replace feature.

Apart from this I've enjoyed using 1.96(RC 1) over 1.95.4 as its faster.

Are you sure that your files are lost? Perhaps they have no extension?
You can't loose your file with batch rename...

Checked last night and can only find two files out of twenty-two that were renamed. However I was able to rename/replace and the backup files but did it as two separate actions.

I think there is some bug there that caused my files to disappear and will try to recreate it when I get the chance. I have a feeling it was because I tried the rename and replace in one go.
