I am trying to use XnView as Fullscreen viewer with one instance by default. So I have configured XnView (1.96):
General / Operations - Only one Instance
Startup - >not< Launch Browser at Startup
Startup - >not< Maximize XnView at Startup
Startup - "Fullscreen - Edit"
Browser / Browser - Synchronize Browser selection with current View
Browser / Browser - Auto Refresh
Browser / Browser - Automatically select new files
View - Only one window view opened
View - No multiple view for same file
View - Open only one view for multiples files
Now I have the following effects:
When I set >Startup - "Fullscreen - Edit"< and double-clicking on an image in Windows Explorer, that image is displayed fine in Fullscreen mode - but when double-clicking on a different image in Windows Explorer XnView somehow switches its window and then XnView completely closes down - hmmm ...
When I set >Startup - "Fullscreen - Browser"< and double-clicking on an image in Windows Explorer, that image is displayed fine in Fullscreen mode - but when double-clicking on a different image in Windows Explorer XnView hangs. After a while pressing ESC I can close XnView but hmmm ...
When I set >Startup - "Normal"< and double-clicking on an image in Windows Explorer, that image is displayed fine in normal mode. Double-clicking on a different image in Windows Explorer XnView switches to that other image in normal mode - fine - but I want Fullscreen mode - hmmm ...
When I set >Startup - "Fullscreen" - Edit< plus >General / Operations - >>not<< Only one Instance< and double-clicking on an image in Windows Explorer, that image is displayed fine in Fullscreen mode. Double-clicking on a different image in Windows Explorer XnView opens again in Fullscreen mode - fine - but I only want one instance to run... - hmmm ...
So what do I do wrong ? How to configure XnView to simply show images in Fullscreen mode and being able to select other images in Windows Explorer without closing XnView before or without switching to normal mode before and without crashing or freezing the program each time I select another image in Windows Explorer ?
Thanks a lot for any hint !
P.S. using latest XnView 1.96 with Windows XP SP3 if this is important to know ...

I can also see that in emulated environment: if while always remaining in fullscreen view, <alt + tab> to a file manager, and then launch another image.

I have similar result: it doesn't switch to new image until change is made to desktop view with <F11>.
I am using XnView in fullscreen mode - and - since ever, switching to a different folder, opening a new image does not show the image - as already described above.
Is there a setting I need to set to make this work ?
sorry for pulling this question up again, but this is an issue I am facing since years - and its annoying since years and years.

Is there a chance that this will be fixed in a future release ? Or is there a setting I need to set to make this work ?
i can't reproduce, if i change the preview height, next i'll have the good height
