Batch processing ignores AI files

I have installed Ghostscript, and can generate thumbnails of my AI files. However, when I do a 'Batch Processing' and select a folder with the 'include subfolders' option checked it pulls up all the files and folders, but only .jpg, .tif, etc. No .AI files or .PSD files are added to the list of files. I can manually add them one by one, but it will not automatically added them like it does for other files. Is there a way to fix this?
