When I use XnView to show a picture directly from Outlook it takes minutes until XnView shuts down. The task manager is showing nearly 100% activity due XnView. I seems to be that XnView is doing something (searching ?) This does not occur when I fcopy the picture to my computer before I open it with XnView.
Maybe someone knows a solution. Thank you in advance.

Re: XnView needs minutes to shut down with Outlook
A guess:
When double-clicking onto the attachment Outlook will unpack the image into a temporary folder and then the associated application is started (which is XnView). XnView will open the image, apart from this XnView might open the browser and read all the files in the temporary directory and build their thumbnails. I'm just guessing here, but this might be the szenario.
To verify you could delete all temporary files and try to open another attachment and see whether it opens fast or not.

Helmut,
Many thanks for your help. This was exactly the reason for the long shut down time. Thanks again.
