I noticed that for some time now XnView claims to support ECC (Ecchi) format. I downloaded and installed XnView and NConvert, and I wasn't able to open most files in that format.
Perhaps there's a confusion - non-animated ECC files are really PNG files with ECC extension. However, animated ECC files are completely different format with its own header, and many PNG files embedded inside a single ECC file.
There's a viewer named ECCVIEW.EXE that correctly displays animated ECC images - but there's no information about ECC format anywhere.
I can provide many samples of animated ECC images, if needed - I'd like to be able to convert them to animated GIFs or PNGs someday.
