Help with XnView Shell Extension Setup 64bits

Post by ckb1183 »

Hi,

I'm trying to download XnView Shell Extension Setup 64bits. My Norton antivirus is blocking it with this message

Is this a concern or perhaps over active protection? I'd hate to take my brand new computer to the repair shop so soon.

Thanks for any insight you might be able to provide.

Most likely a false alarm as reported by Norton.

I recommend using Avast! Home Edition as a freeware virus scanner!
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8Ghz, 16Gb DDR4, RX6600XT with Dell U2520D at 2560x1440@60Hz scaling 125%
Win11 x64 24H2, Hard Disk Sentinel Pro, MS PowerToys, Process Lasso Pro and Wintoys

Norton might be the culprit, but please also check your download source. A safe place is the XnView download page.

In the past there had been some nasty people setting up download portals with common freeware programs. After downloading these programs, you had to pay to "unlock" them.

Thank you Helmet for your input.

Norton wasn't happy about it but I was able to download the shell extention 2.6.0 64 bit. I also installed Xnview 1.96 however I'm still unable to see all of my PSP thumbnails in the XnView Brower. I can open them without a problem I just cannot see the thumbnail in the browser. What am I doing wrong?
