Is MBM encoder updated in the new version?
It would be great if the program allow to specify bits per pixel when convert to MBM format. This is very useful when prepare 12-bit picture for mobile phone.

Not a big problem, but it would be very convenient if unicode filename was supported.

I usually named files and folder as much informative as possible. I like to add some details (author's name or description), so I can find information about it later when I want to. Another reason is most of the time I cannot translate filename into english language. Therefore, picture files are named as their original author want them to be named. It's very like when people named music files. Sometime, it's unavoidable to use foreign languages such as chinese, korean or russian.

XnView is a very good picture viewing program. It's the only one that support every graphic formats I used (especially, MBM ). Supporting for unicode filename, for me, is the last feature I need, so I can access all graphic files in my computer without open it directly.

The German umlauts and the French accents are all supported. Do you use Asian character sets? What doesn't work for you, currently?

Yes, I use Asian character, mostly they are Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

If folder' name is Asian language, XnView will display ??? instead. Files in Asian language also don't show in browser view.

On my system filenames in Japanese are displayed correctly.
I do not know if this has any influence or not, but the default language is set to Japanese on my system. I do not use any language other than Japanese and English, so I cannot say anything about other languages.

- A bit aside the topic : A French user complains here that his IPTC / EXIF data are not displayed properly when used for thumb-nails labels…
- Obviously, they are written as UTF-8 inside the pic-files, since the missing " é " French character is replaced by two false characters ( = UTF-8, I guess).
What about the support of such data ?
